Beautiful Playground

Image

In 2018, Tracey and Steve Woodhead donated the beautiful playground which is situated in the rear of the municipal property.  We are very thankful and appreciative of this generous gift and hope everyone enjoys this wonderful contribution to our community.

In March of 2022, Sandyston Recreation was able to purchase an additional swing for older children thanks to public support received from fundraising activities!

Walking Path

Image
Our beautiful walking path, installed behind the municipal building, made possible by a grant received by the State of New Jersey. “The Local Recreation Improvement Grant” awarded $70,000 to Sandyston in January 2022. The idea for the walking path was through thoughtful planning of Sandyston Recreation and Sandyston Township and the hard work of Matt Morris of Harold E. Pellow & Associates. The lowest bidder for construction of the walking path, .29 of a mile in length, was Salmon Brothers in the amount of $72,155 who finished the project in the middle of August.

Other towns who received grants: Andover Borough $20,000; Byram Township $75,000; Franklin Borough $70,000; Hamburg Borough $50,000; Lafayette Township $35,000; Newton Town $30,000; Ogdensburg Borough $75,000; Stillwater Township $30,000; Sussex Borough $50,000.

Though your support of our fundraisers, Sandyston Recreation has paid for the engineering associated with this project.
