So many tractors. So much fun! Sandyston Township Volunteer Fire Department volunteers are working hard to make this event fun and successful…. with awesome sponsors and donations from the community!
This year celebrates the 20th anniversary of the very first tractor parade. 2004-2024. Who knew 20 years ago that one idea would bring us here today! A day that fosters community spirit, family and friend gatherings, seeing old friends,
making new friends, honoring our farmers, celebrating our farmers and their equipment….restored or original condition, all brought to us by our dedicated volunteer fire department!
Sandyston….still a farming community and way of life.
Tractor Parade is for TRACTORS ONLY!
We only permit haywagons. Nothing fabricated.
T-shirts should be ready for sale by 9 am. Color announced Saturday morning….not before. That’s the tradition.
Tricky Tray will be ready by 10 am. Tickets will be pulled later in the evening after tractors get back and people have a chance to eat and participate in raffle. (Approx 5:30 pm but subject to change).
T-shirts, tricky tray, tractor registration, and participant purchase is all located in the bays of the fire department.
Participating with a tractor? Get here early to register. The longer you wait the line gets long. Tractors leave the parking lot at 2 pm. We make every effort for them to leave on time. Please be where you are going to be by 2 pm and avoid driving up and down County Road 645. Be mindful of where you park to see the parade. See prior posts for parade route and pick a location that is best for you.
TRAFFIC ALERT
Traffic will be stopped at the intersection of Vounty Road 560 and Route 645 (Layton-Hainesville Road) by Sussex County Sheriff’s Department as previously mentioned in several posts. If you are traveling this way during this time it is best to avoid this area for a short period of time Between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm approximately. This is so the tractor drivers can safely traverse to Ridge Road together.
PLEASE GO SLOW on our roads during this time. Be mindful of people, cars, kids, pets and drive slow. Please be patient too. This is a short window of time that we ask for your cooperation. Please do not seek alternate routes and drive erratically to make up time. We plan all year for this event and when everyone works together we can have a great day!
WHERE CAN YOU GO TO SEE PARADE
You can come to municipal building and sit on the front lawn, a side road along the parade route or any other place along the route that is not private property.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation!
Come visit Sandyston on Saturday! Weather looks perfect (whew!), our businesses are looking forward to seeing you and our fire department is excited for a great day!
If you are coming with your tractor…..THANK YOU!
We can’t wait to see you!
